The government is currently introducing some of the largest funding cuts in decades, many of which will directly affect higher education institutions in England such as the University of Birmingham. This, in combination with the outcomes of the Browne Review, could result in top-up fees being left entirely uncapped, reaching as high as £10,000 a year. 4 years ago they didn’t even exist, and now they could create a barrier to education preventing millions of would-be students from meeting their potential and creating a market within higher education. > NO to overcrowded lecture theatres
> NO to slashed maintenance budgets & neglected buildings
> NO to outdated computers and equipment

> NO to removing the cap on tuition fees & debt upwards of £40,000
>NO to inhibiting social mobility and creating a barrier to a better life

This opportunity is more than just a chance for you to help change the future of higher education, however. This is also a chance for you to experience London without the added transport cost. Once the march is over you’ll be free to go shopping, to go sightseeing, or do pretty much whatever you want until the evening when we’ll rendezvous for a drink before returning to Birmingham. If you have any energy left in you after the awesomeness of the day you’ll be invited to an exclusive afterparty at the Guild of Students, where drinks will be just £1 and there will be special entertainments provided.
