Friends of Palestine Society

The University of Birmingham Friends of Palestine Society mission is to raise awareness among the University of Birmingham’s students on the Human Rights Violations occurring in the Palestinian Territories.

The University of Birmingham Friends of Palestine Society has the following guiding principles:

1. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.
2. All violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights should be condemned.
3. Peace in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict should be achieved, through non-violent means and democratic process.
4. The University of Birmingham Friends of Palestine Society renounces all forms of violence.
5. The occupation by Israel of the Palestinian Territories should be ended immediately.


The University of Birmingham Friends of Palestine Society aims:

1. To raise awareness among the students of the University of Birmingham on the Human Right violations occurring in the Palestinian Territories.
2. To provide students of the University of Birmingham with information on the Human Rights Violations in the Palestinian Territories.
3. To support charities aiding Human Rights Violation victims in the Palestinian Territories by raising funds among students of the University of Birmingham.
4. To stimulate positive debate on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict between students of the University of Birmingham.
5. To cooperate with other non-violent organizations supporting the Palestinian cause.
6. To challenge the current discourse on, and media frame of, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
