United Nations Society

The University of Birmingham United Nations Society hosts one of the largest United Nations university branches in the United Kingdom. We attend several Model United Nations conferences in the UK and are a member of the United Nations Youth and Student Association (UNYSA-UK).
Our Society attracts a wide variety of students from politics, geography, economics, business and engineering, to name but a few. We are very diverse in our backgrounds with over 30 different nationalities represented.
Our civilities are split up into Model United Nations and Campaigns. We participate heavily in both activities, allowing us to tackle international issues from a wider range of perspectives. In the past two years we have collaborated with other Guild of Students societies in various campaigns including Climate Change Awareness Week.
We also host guest speakers from various universities and influential figures in the political scene.
Although the UN Society is often seen as a ‘serious’ student society, we boast a hectic social life, so don’t hesitate to join and have fun!
